Anthony Loke "Spot-Checks" Kelana Jaya LRT Line, Meeting Prasarana This Week

Barely days after reporting to duty as the once again Minister of Transport, YB Anthony Loke went straight to work picking up from where he left off after his last tenureship was cut short barely 22-months in.

Based on his social sharing at 8.05pm, last night, he had spent about two hours to review the actual situation and condition along the Kelana Jaya LRT route during the peak-hours of between 5 to 7pm.

The entire survey was done on his own accord with no media present and without informing the concession holder for the LRT line PRASARANA as he wanted to experience what the “rakyat” is going through on a daily basis day in and out. From what he reported, the situation is quite crowded in the train and is proving to be uncomfortable for the passengers.

Furthermore, based on the pictures he uploaded, we are able to see certain crucial fixes that have to be carried out including leaky roof with missing ceiling, broken escalator, unsafe narrow walkway and unkempt elevator corridor.

YB Anthony further added that based on this “spot-check” he would be holding a meeting with Prasarana’s management board this week to further discuss the best way forward in improving the public transport services.
