To accommodate the rising number of passenger riders, Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL) will resume its KL International Airport (KLIA) Ekspres and KLIA Transit services on January 3, 2023.

In a statement released on Thursday (Dec. 15), ERL stated that the decision to resume service came after it had been operating combined train services because to the decline in passenger ridership brought on by the Covid-19 outbreak.

"Air travellers will be happy to know that they may once more take advantage of a non-stop 28-minute ride from Kuala Lumpur (KL) Sentral to KLIA (KLIA2 takes 33 minutes); KLIA Ekspres is still the town's quickest airport transport.

The KLIA Ekspres will run every 20 minutes throughout morning and evening rush hours once the dedicated services have resumed, according to the statement.

The peak hours would be extended to 8 p.m. on weekdays from the present 7 p.m., and the KLIA Transit frequency would also be revised to run every 15 minutes. Additionally, the KLIA Ekspres train departure point would return to the Departure Hall platform.

In conjunction with the approaching Chinese New Year celebration, ERL is also providing "Double Hop-piness Rewards" for EkspreSmiles members to earn twice as many EkspreSmiles points on specific train tickets purchased online from January 3 through January 31, 2023.

Customers are invited to download the KLIA Ekspres app or visit the website to become EkspreSmiles members and purchase tickets. They can enjoy a 10% online discount as well as earn points which they can redeem for discounts on future purchases.

In order to minimise waiting time and assure enough time to make flights, ERL also urged travellers to check the train schedule and plan their journey.

Passengers can visit www.KLIAekspres.com or KLIA Ekspres Facebook to view the complete train schedules and promotion updates.

Additional help is also available to the public by contacting 03-2267 8000 (Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 6pm), as well as through KLIA Ekspres' Facebook and Twitter pages.
