- GWM will Commence CKD Operations Soon
GWM Malaysia has shared that it will begin one of its local assembly operations (CKD) next year in 2023. This also marked the company’s first electric vehicle to roll out their strategy of 9 models in 3 years.
More details of these partnerships will be announced once it has been confirmed by GWM in 2023. Notably, GWM intensified its efforts to expand into ASEAN countries including Thailand and Malaysia.
Following the setup of GWM’s Rayong Plant in Thailand, the establishment of GWM’s local subsidiary Great Wall Motor Malaysia in July 2022, and the launch of Ora Good Cat in November 2022.
Looking ahead, GWM is well positioned for growth through its robust strategy and long-term investments in sustainable approaches. These key proof points indicate its commitment to advancing HEVs, PEVs, and BHEVs.
On a different note, GWM car dealer Superhub has opened its first sales showroom in Puchong. Aligned with that, Superhub also has another 4S service experience centre located in USJ which is expected to begin operations in February 2023.
With more authorised service partners across the nation, covering areas in Penang, Kuala Lumpur, and Johor Bahru, Great Wall Motor has big plans to work with various partners to establish 15 unified and multi-faceted terminal stores, mainly 3S stores, covering 70% of Malaysia's capital cities by the end of 2023.
GWM’s spare parts warehouse in Shah Alam has also begun operations and is working around-the-clock to ensure an uninterrupted supply chain and inventory.
