2026 Ora Good Cat & GT Variants Now Open for Booking from RM115,000
The Ora Good Cat GT is officially heading to Malaysia, bringing a sportier option to GWM’s growing EV line-up.
Following its surprise appearance at the Merdeka Day parade in Putrajaya, GWM Malaysia has now opened bookings for both the new Ora Good Cat and the GT variant, with prices starting from RM115,000.
The Ora Good Cat first arrived in Malaysia in 2022 as one of the country’s earliest EV hatchbacks. Its retro styling, long range, and premium features helped it gain quick popularity among early EV adopters. The updated model continues that momentum with improved equipment, a new battery, and subtle styling updates.
According to GWM, the latest Ora Good Cat features “refreshed styling,” though the single teaser image doesn’t reveal much. At first glance, the model appears to retain the familiar front-end design seen on the current model.
The bigger changes lie underneath. The updated model now uses a SVOLT-supplied LFP battery with a 57.7 kWh capacity, replacing the previous CATL units. It offers up to 480 km of NEDC range, while charging remains at 6.6 kW AC and 60 kW DC.
The front-mounted motor continues to deliver 141 HP and 210 Nm, offering smooth and quiet performance suited for city driving. Power delivery remains linear, with the same easygoing character that made the Good Cat popular among urban EV users.
Inside, the 10.25-inch infotainment display, leatherette upholstery, Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree camera, and smartphone connectivity via Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the My GWM app are all carried over. A new column-mounted gear selector replaces the previous rotary dial, giving the cabin a cleaner, more modern layout.
The Ora Good Cat GT, meanwhile, turns things up a notch. It uses the same 57.7 kWh battery but produces 168 HP and 250 Nm, complete with Launch Control for sharper acceleration. The GT offers up to 460 km of NEDC range.
The GT’s exterior gains a more aggressive front bumper, yellow brake calipers, GT-exclusive alloy wheels, and a rear spoiler. Inside, GT sport seats with yellow stitching and suede trim highlight its performance focus.
GWM Malaysia COO Roslan Abdullah said the arrival of the new Ora Good Cat and GT “gives Malaysian customers not just more options, but a truly elevated EV experience.”
With the EV tax holiday confirmed to end this year, the timing of GWM’s latest move is intriguing. Could this be the brand’s final push to lock in more Ora Good Cat buyers before prices rise - or an early test to gauge local interest ahead of exploring CKD assembly options in Malaysia?
