- Mercedes-Benz Builds the World's First EV-Only Showroom in Japan
Mercedes-Benz, a high-end German automaker, just inaugurated its first showroom for all-electric vehicles. With the new opening, Mercedes will have the world's first showroom with entirely EVs, so congratulations!
The new Mercedes EQ Yokohama factory is being built in Japan this time. The car manufacturer's decision to locate it in the Land of the Rising Sun is not surprising given the country's growing interest in electric vehicles.
More info shared that the Mercedes EQ Yokohama showroom is 1,221 square metres in size which could house five Mercedes EQ models namely the EQA hatchback, EQB SUV, EQC SUV, EQE saloon, and including the flagship model EQS saloon.
The facility, however, may house up to seven units. Aside from that, test drives will be made available, as well as a location for vehicle delivery and three CHAdeMO chargers. For service, the dealership provides a five-bay workshop.
In addition to EV charging facilities, the Mercedes EQ Yokohama offers V2H equipment that provides an overview of the EV lifestyle. Solar panels will also be placed in the future, completing the showroom's transformation to a sustainable model that draws power from natural and renewable sources.
EQ professionals are on hand at the Mercedes EQ Yokohama to assist prospective buyers. These individuals claim to be well-versed in handling any EV-related question that a customer may have.
On a different note, a MB Rent debuted alongside the opening of the Mercedes EQ Yokohama. The programme intends to give prospective purchasers the option to not only test drive an EQ model, but also to live with one for a set amount of time.
To visit the new showroom, it is now open to the public as an opening fair is currently taking place and will last five days until Sunday, December 11, 2022.
