Following suit fellow automakers BMW and MINI in revising their fleet prices as the new year beckons, Toyota has recently unveiled the latest price for two of its saloons, namely the Corolla Altis and Camry.
Both the Corolla Altis 1.8 E and 1.8 G variants are experiencing a price hike of about RM4,000, while the flagship saloon Camry 2.5 V is slapped with a price increase of up to RM10,000 from the previous price.

As a result, the prices for the 2023 Toyota Corolla Altis starts at RM134,888 for the baseline 1.8 E variant and RM145,888 for the up-specced 1.8 G model. Meanwhile, the 2023 Toyota Camry 2.5 V is now priced at RM219,888 – almost RM20,000 above the RM200,000 mark.

Said price hike is possibly due to the weak performances of the Ringgit currency, as well as other external factors such as inflation. To note, both the Toyota Corolla Altis and Camry are fully-imported (CBU) from Thailand.
Prior to this, Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) president Datuk Aishah Ahmad had previously warned about the car price increase due to the global supply chain disruptions caused by numerous conflicts and post-pandemic economic recoveries.

Fortunately, this price hike does not affect the cars’ specifications. The 2023 Corolla Altis retains 1.8-litre 2ZR-FE mill rated at 137 HP and 172 NM, while the 2023 Camry still harnesses the bigger 2.5-litre Dynamic Force mill capable of producing 206 HP and 253 NM. To add, both models also underpin Toyota’s latest TNGA platform.
