New BMW 2023 Models Now Come Standard with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay

BMW Malaysia announces that all new 2023 model year vehicles will come standard with Smartphone Integration and Connected Package Professional packages, which grants new BMW models with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay mobile connectivity.

The Smartphone Integration package that features Android Auto and Apple CarPlay allows users to connect their smartphones to their BMW’s iDrive infotainment system. On certain BMW models with iDrive 8 operating system, the Apple CarPlay connectivity will garner the models with Apple Maps adaption in the driver’s display, as well as the head-up display (HUD).
Prior to this revelation, BMW owners needed to pay a hefty sum of RM1,299 in order to activate the Smartphone Integration on their vehicles.

On the other hand, the Connected Package Professional includes novel Remote Services, which grants BMW owners remote functions to control their vehicles, such as for locking and unlocking the car, activating the headlights, climate controls, as well as telematics. Drivers are also being fed with numerous information about their car status, such as fuel level, pending services, mileage and more.
All these controls and information can be accessed via the My BMW App.

Aside from the Remote Services, said package also comes with BMW Concierge Services, which is due for an upgrade that adds new features. These new features include BMW Maps Connected Charging, as well as Connected Navigation. BMW EV users won’t be having range anxieties in future’s time as the BMW Maps Connected Charging will allow them to be notified of and check on their vehicle’s charging status remotely.

Meanwhile, the Connected Navigation feature is a cloud-based navigation system that offers more detailed and intuitive navigation with an intricate Point of Interest segment, thus providing better route guidance for its users. The destination for the navigation can be set via My BMW App, where the Last Mile feature is present to guide users towards their destination should they need to travel there by foot.
All these new features will be made available on lifetime offer for all new 2023 BMW models, as long as the vehicles’ hardware permit.
