Mercedes C-Class, S-Class Receives New Infotainment System With AI Update
Mercedes-Benz unveiled two of its own well-liked models that are getting new infotainment upgrades. Both of the most recent C-Class and S-Class models will receive a free over the air (OTA) software update that adds a new artificial intelligence feature that were previously only accessible in the EQE and EQS as well as the later model year examples of the ICE-powered sedans.
Aside from that, the "Zero Layer" feature that is added to the MBUX infotainment system is the OTA's standout addition. According to the circumstance and context, this uses artificial intelligence to position the most useful applications at the top menu level on the home screen, saving the user from having to scroll through the sub-menus.
The OTA update also adds more AI-based features, like the "Energizing Comfort," which gives passengers a soothing massage while they travel. Based on the user's behaviour over a predetermined amount of time, this and other functions are automatically offered to them.
What’s even more interesting is when the AI actually gets to know the driver, remembers their preferences, and also uses them to provide tailored recommendations for an array of comfort and vehicle features.
For instance, the MBUX will immediately offer a shortcut if the driver makes a particular phone call as they are driving back from work. The driver can respond with "Do not suggest now" or "Do not suggest again" if they don't want to take the suggested shortcut or want to break their habit.
Apart from the most recent models, the update is also compatible with the Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W206), S-Class (W223), and Maybach S-Class (Z223) which were produced back in 2021.
Last but not least, both the Mercedes Me mobile app and MBUX infotainment will inform owners of those models about this new option. Whoever chooses the update will be able to alternate between the interfaces, which is a good thing.
