The Next Generation Perodua Bezza *MIGHT* Look Like This

Hype surrounding the new generation 2023 Perodua Axia (chassis code: D74A) supermini is still at fever-pitch right now, but it isn’t unwarranted to say the least. Though its price has grown to correspond with its larger size and longer kit list, we’re certain national carmaker Perodua has got another winner in hand.

Of course, with the new A-segment supermini now revealed in full, we now have some idea of how the next generation Perodua Bezza sedan offshoot might be like. As for how it will look, thankfully, we have renowned local automotive render artist Chin Swee Hoe @ Theophilus Chin / @Theottle for that.

Chin has taken to the internet once again this week to give us his vision of how the next Axia D74A-based Bezza might look like. As you can see from the featured images and YouTube video, Chin has left the forward half of the new supermini largely unchanged.

Aptly, the biggest change can be seen with the rear end whereby Chin has taken inspiration from the latest generation Toyota Yaris Ativ sedan. This makes sense given that that the Yaris Ativ, which will likely see life as the Vios in our market soon, also underpins similar DNGA (Daihatsu New Global Architecture) bones as how the new Axia D74A does.

The Yaris Ativ’s elements are evident through the taillights, bumper, and lower bumper accents in Chin’s render. Also, Tasteful here too is Chin’s proportional redux of the Axia D74A’s C-pillar and boot. Overall, it’s plain to see through Chin’s render that an Axia D74A-based Bezza could indeed work, and it could actually look pretty good too.

As proven by the existing Bezza model, the business case for an A-segment as such remains strong in the local market. As to when we’ll see this happen, we may not have to wait too long if Perodua sticks to its usual model change and update cycles. Given that the market have now received the new generation Axia D74A, a Bezza might debut perhaps as early as later this year, but don’t take our word for it just yet…

Nevertheless, what do you folks think of Chin’s vision of the next-gen Bezza? Would you prefer a booted version of the Axia instead? Perhaps one primed with a larger – read: peppier – 1.3-litre 4-cyl as how the current range-topping Bezza AV packs? Hit the comments below with your thoughts then…
