Virtual Nissan Max-Out EV Concept Makes Real World Debut

Nissan has taken the wraps off of its Max-Out concept electric vehicle (EV), thus marking said concept’s transition from virtual form into a real life concept. What hasn’t changed though is the concept’s mission of embodying its aspirations to advance sustainable and creative mobility whilst also pushing the boundaries of zero-emissions transportation.

First revealed virtually back in 2021, the sleek electric convertible is designed as a two-seater with distinct styling. The latter is evident through the long, flowing lines and soft curves adorning its exterior. Adding to that is a minimalist windscreen design plus a rear panel that is similarly illuminated as how the front panel is.

As demonstrated in the video, the screen can also be used for digital gaming, browsing photo galleries, as well as lap timing. Other highlights present include a unique set of wheels, plus a big open-air vent in place of a front grille. A large, circular light bar is positioned at the rear, with an inset 'Nissan' name written out.

On board, the futuristic design continues with two floating seats and geometric carpeting that looks like an optical illusion. The concept has also been equipped with a yoke-style steering wheel and an expansive screen that combines a digital instrument cluster with an infotainment system.

Aptly, both the non-traditional steering wheel and a lack of pedals here are strong hints of this concept’s adoption of autonomous capabilities, perhaps a more sophisticated version of Nissan's "ProPILOT" autonomous tech.

While the Max-powertrain Out's has not been disclosed, solid-state battery technology, which will be used in the company's cars starting in 2028, will likely be employed by the concept should it enter production. Beyond that, the adoption of Nissan’s ‘e-4ORCE’ electrified all-wheel-drive (AWD) tech is also anticipated.

Whilst the idea behind the Nissan Max-Out EV concept seems like a pipe dream, Nissan is working to increase their selection of electric vehicles and will begin producing two new EVs in Canton, Mississippi, starting from 2025 onwards.

Besides the Max-Out, Nissan also previewed the Chill-Out crossover, the Surf-Out pick-up truck, and the Hang-Out MPV concepts virtually alongside the initial Max-Out virtual concept back in 2021. All three are reportedly slated for production at Nissan's Sunderland plant in the future.
