Volkswagen ID.4 Global Ad Campaign In Conjunction With "Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania"
What does the movie “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania” and Volkswagen ID.4 have in common? Truthfully NOTHING. However that is not stopping Volkswagen from jumping in the bandwagon to capitalise on the highly anticipated movie release come Feb 17 through a well curated product placement.
For the movie, Volkswagen would be launching a global 360-degree campaign that will see the ID.4 brought to the limelight through custom product placement of the EV as the Super Hero’s family car.
According to Gilbert Heise, Head of Global Brand Management and Consumer Insights at Volkswagen, “Marvel Studios films rank among the most successful movies of all time and Ant-Man is one of the most likeable characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Integrating the ID.4 in the movie and the accompanying campaign enables us to reach millions of people all over the world”. He further adds, “What’s more, the Ant-Man character is a perfect fit for our brand: he is likeable, authentic and has a great sense of humour”.
Leading up to the movie releases, Volkswagen and Marvel Studios released a custom spot advert directed by Anthony Leonardi III who through Framestore’s award-winning VFX team brought the spot’s shrinking and growing effects to life.
“This fun, innovative and integrated campaign brings a relatable storyline to life in an extraordinary way. We are so excited to share it with fans around the world, in celebration of the release of the next instalment of the MCU”, said Lylle Breier, SVP Global Marketing Partnerships at Walt Disney Studios.
Furthermore, audiences would also witness some behind-the-scenes actions in making of the movie and how the Volkswagen e-SUV ID.4 is incorporated during production of the film. The Volkswagen ID.4 would also make an appearance during the upcoming red carpet world premiere in Los Angeles.
“Nowadays, emotional storytelling through this kind of cooperation is enormously important for brands,” explains Salim Yüksel, who is responsible for Future Trends, Strategic Partnerships and Global Branded Entertainment at Volkswagen.
