Jalan Cheras To Close From March 7 - May ; Contraflow At EkoCheras, MRT Taman Mutiara Stretch
DBKL has announced that the Jalan Cheras stretch in front of the MRT Taman Mutiara station will be closed and diverted beginning March 7 to allow for the upgrading of the sewage system as well as the road itself.
City hall did not mention flooding, but that area is known to be prone. The project is scheduled to be completed in May 2023.

As a result, the area will be closed and diverted in two stages. Traffic from Jalan Cheras heading to the city centre will be diverted to a contraflow in the morning, which will be in place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. From 4.30 p.m. to 7 p.m., traffic from KL to Kajang will be given a contraflow lane. Plan your route ahead of time to avoid traffic. Those coming from Kajang should avoid this stretch and instead take the Taman Connaught exit.
