EV users travelling east would now have to start planning their trip much earlier with alternative charging solutions in mind as the only convenient fast DC Charger by EV Connection (EVC) would go offline for 42 Days from 8 Mar to 19 Apr 2023.

This 180kW DC Charger (2 x 90kW) located at the Petronas Gambang East Bound R&R would be closed off to facilitate upgrading works with the addition of proper roofing shelter for the future convenience of all EV users.

However, EVC's AC Charger at Petronas would remain online. Based on the feedback we gather on EVC’s social posting quite a number of users are questioning the decision of beginning the upgrade works with its completion just days away from the Hari Raya holidays which would see many travelling back to their hometowns. Some are even questioning the length of the roofing shelter works which totals 42 days.

The EVC Petronas Gambang till now is the most convenient charging facility east bound with a DC Charger that nearly all eastbound EV users rely on. It would be a wiser choice for EVC to either postpone the construction works to after the Hari Raya holidays or to set up alternate temporary DC charging collusion for its users during this downtime.
