2024 Land Rover Defender 130 Debuts with V8 Heart & Special Outbound Edition
The Land Rover Defender 130 is due for an 2024 Model Year (2024MY) this year, arriving with a special Outbound edition. Both the standard and special models are now powered by a potent V8 engine under its hood, promising a much better off-roading performance on these three-row SUVs.
Powering both the standard Defender 130 and the special Outbound edition is a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 mill rated at 493 HP and 610 NM, granting it a 0-100 KM/H sprint finish in only 5.7 seconds.
Starting with the special edition model, the Defender 130 Outbound is available exclusively in 5-seat configuration, which grants it extra cargo space with near-flat flooring, measuring up to 2,516-litre. Staying true to the model’s adventurous theme, the cabin is fitted with durable rubber floor mats, as well as several lashing points and new cargo net for better stowage solutions.
As for the seats, customers can opt for either the full Windsor leather or the more durable Resist fabric upholstery – all finished in Ebony hue. Elsewhere, the cabin is also laced with Ebony Morzine headliner, Robustec veneer, as well as cross-car beam, draped in a Satin Black Powder Coat with brushed finishing.
As for the exterior, the Defender 130 Outbound edition matches the dark-hued cabin theme with the Shadow Atlas matte finish to the bumpers and front grille inserts, while the side vents are draped in Anthracite hue. This special chunky off-roader rides on a set of 20-inch gloss black wheels, with the bigger 22-inch Shadow Atlas Matt wheels offered as an optional upgrade.
As for the exterior colourways itself, this special model comes with up to four colourways, ranging from Fuji White, Santorini Black, Carpathian Grey, as well as Eiger Grey. All colourways come standard with satin protective film, ensuring that your paint won’t chipped-off easily when going off-roading.
Moving to the standard Defender 130, the marque offers this model exclusively in two colourways – Santorini Black or Carpathian Grey. Featuring a slightly subdued exterior compared to the special model, the Defender 130 is still primed with a slew of sporty and rugged equipment. This includes the quad tailpipes, sliding panoramic roof with black contrast roof, Matrix LED headlights, as well as smoke-tinted taillights.
The Defender 130 only comes with a single wheel option, measuring 22-inch each with Satin Dark Grey finish and sporty five-spoke design.
On board, this 8-seater SUV is laden with modern equipment, including the 14-way adjustable front seats with both heating and cooling functions, suede-wrapped steering wheel with heating function, as well as a four-zone climate control. Audios are blasted via a premium Meridian sound system, ensuring that occupants are kept entertained, even when traversing through rough terrains.
The V8-powered 2024MY Land Rover Defender 130 is now available on sale, with price starting at £116,845 (RM650,618), making it the most expensive Defender model, to date. As for the special Outbound edition pricing, the British marque remains tight-lipped over it, for now.
