- GWM Accelerates Electrification At Auto Shanghai 2023
Great Wall Motor (GWM) demonstrated its commitment to electrification at Auto Shanghai 2023 by displaying a variety of new energy vehicles from its five major brands: Haval, Tank, Ora, Poer, and Wey. GWM Haval debuted its Fierce Dragon Max plug-in hybrid SUV (sport utility vehicle), which featured the Chinese automaker's Hi4 (Hybrid Intelligent 4WD - four wheel drive) technology for the first time.
In addition, GWM's new pick-up, a 6x6 version of the Poer, was released alongside the large high-performance hybrid pickup Poer Shanhai plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and hybrid (HEV), demonstrating the Chinese automaker's commitment to new energy pick-ups.
Meanwhile, GWM Tank saw the Tank400 PHEV make its world debut, and pre-orders for the luxury off-road SUV Tank500 PHEV opened. In the high-end segment, GWM Wey debuted its first plug-in MPV (multi-purpose vehicle), the Gaoshan PHEV, as well as the Lanshan PHEV, a six-seater SUV.
GWM Ora also introduced two all-electric models. The automaker also demonstrated its technologies, including its 3.0 turbocharged V6 engine and 9HAT (9-speed hydraulic automatic gearbox), as well as its proprietary 6x6 super off-road platform.
Parker Shi, GWM's vice president and head of international market, stated that the company would speed up the development of more high-quality new-energy products.
