National carmaker Proton took initiative in answering the government’s recent call towards reducing cost of living for lower income groups - B40 folks in particular - earlier today by launching its special Rahmah Service Campaign.

The initiative was introduced during a launch ceremony held at the Jewel Sonic Flagship Proton 3S Centre located next to IOI City Mall, Putrajaya. Present to officially launch the campaign was Tengku Zafrul Aziz, Minister of International Trade & Industry (MITI). Alongside him were Proton’s Deputy CEO Roslan Abdullah, as well as its CEO Dr Li Chunrong.

From today (April 12, 2023) until May 31, 2023, the Proton Rahmah Service campaign will offer customers with a service package that’s affordably priced at just RM150. On top of which, customers will also benefit with a 40-point vehicle safety check that’s offered at no cost (free).

Said benefits were tailored especially for B40 individuals who currently own current Proton models such Saga, Persona, Iriz, and Exora. Besides that, the campaign also benefits owners of selected older models, namely the Inspira, Waja, and Wira models, in particular.

The effort sees Proton offer customers several discounts on selected key parts and service labour, the latter up to RM20. As for the former, it includes a 10% discount for oil filters and gaskets, as well as a 25% discount for semi-synthetic lubricant.

“An inclusive campaign, costs are shared evenly between Proton Edar and our dealers,” explained Roslan Abdullah on how the carmaker was able to formulate the affordable service package. “Through this, we hope owners are compelled to service their cars at our authorised service centres before starting their journey back during the festive period,” adds the exec further.

“I am pleased for Proton to be the first automotive company to support the Government’s initiative, and I hope other brands will follow suit to reduce the cost of living for those who need it most,” expressed Tengku Zafrul during the campaign launch held earlier today.
