Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) releases its electric vehicle (EV) success and profitability plan.  According to the CEO Koji Sato,he claims through just three basic steps as it could bring positive results or even big profits to the company.

"It will be a different concept from what we've had until now. In the Step 3 timing, productivity should be significantly enhanced." the CEO said.

First off, step one requires the company to launch its Toyota bZ4X on a new purpose-built platform which was already in play before Sato reigns on April 1 this year. He then noted that this could be a learning experience for Toyota, as the EV experienced few hustle and wasn't exactly a successful vehicle launch.

Moving on with the next step, Toyota will integrate the Arene automotive operating system which as we speak, it's currently being developed by its software arm, Woven. From there, with the new purpose-built platform and proposed lineup of EVs in place, it seems complete with the "quick improvements and modifications".

As reported in the international news online, it makes sense to get the successful software system into place as soon as possible as today's successful EV makers are just as much software companies as they are automakers.

The last step includes as being the culmination of the automaker's combined plans and efforts, as a sort of "three-layered cake." The CEO explains that Toyota will move to a new structural body and layer the  Arene OS equipped with updated software services.

Along that line, the new body will be designed as a re-engineered purpose-built EV platform that could maximize space, performance, and efficiency.

Expected to  produce some 1.5 million EVs globally by 2025, the Japanese automaker also includes in its plan to achieve 3.5 million by 2030.  Furthermore, improved productivity and economies of scale will mean lower prices, which should work to drive sales volume.

He further aims to increase the EV production and profitability by 2030. Currently, Toyota is at stage one of its plan while the second part of the plan will be coming around 2026. Meanwhile, the final step shall take place by 2030.

With that being said, Sato did make it clear that Toyota is still new and just getting started especially in the EV market. Hence, it seriously needs to catch up with other automakers which are already ahead of its way in EV transtion.
