The return of the land’s biggest and arguably most important auto show, the Malaysia Autoshow (MAS) this year promises to bring lots of new car launches by renowned automakers, concept models preview, as well as special deals for customers to indulge with.

One of the automakers taking advantage of this prestigious event is BMW Group Malaysia, who is set to ‘electrify’ the MAS 2023 centre stage with all-new model launches and special deals, in conjunction with the brand’s 20th anniversary in Malaysia.

For its 20th birthday bash, BMW Group Malaysia is set to debut a line-up of new models, possibly carrying some sort of electrification. From the short teaser video, we can see the darkened silhouette of several electrified models from all three BMW Group marques, including the BMW iX1 crossover, BMW i4 M50 EV saloon, the recently-previewed BMW CE 04 EV scooter, as well as the MINI Electric.

All-new BMW i7 EV saloon spied 'rolling down' on Malaysian roads last year

Aside from those few models, perhaps this also might be the great chance for the marque to finally debut the BMW i7 EV saloon to the Malaysian market, after already being seen rolling down our roads for months, as well as even making ‘cameos’ during several BMW events here.

Aside from new model launches, the firm also takes the opportunity to introduce what they described as a “game-changing solution” for the EV ecosystem in Malaysia that “places Circularity and Responsibility at the forefront.” This effort is borne out of the BMW Group Malaysia’s partnership with an EV charging solutions provider, EV Connection.

Commenting on the firm’s 20th birthday bash at MAS 2023 this year, BMW Group Malaysia managing director Hans de Visser said, “As the No.1 premium automaker in Malaysia for three consecutive years, we look forward to presenting our extensive line-up of exceptional vehicles at the annual Malaysia Autoshow – one of the most highly-anticipated automotive events of the year.”

“With rising interest in our electrified portfolio amongst customers new and old, we are thrilled to be delivering on our promise of Sheer Electric Driving Pleasure to more EV enthusiasts at the Autoshow next week, along with other powerful vehicles from across our portfolios that are sure to appeal to the individual BMW or MINI owner,” the boss added.

Aside from the new model launches, visitors at MAS 2023 also will get exclusive special deals and the opportunity to test-drive several BMW and MINI models. The BMW Group Malaysia’s showcase at the MAS 2023 will take place at Hall A1 (Premium Hall) and Hall D (EV Hall) of the auto show.

The Malaysia Autoshow 2023 will take place in Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), starting from May 4 to 7, 2023, from 10AM to 10PM. General admissions for Malaysians and Non-Malaysians start at RM15 and RM25 per day respectively, with complimentary parking spaces available.
