The Malaysia Autoshow 2023 promises to showcase a slew of new models launching into our local market. Spread to over four main halls that host up to five separate showcases, things can get overwhelming for visitors coming to the auto show.

But fret not, as we here at Caricarz.com have put together this hall guide, where we’ll be highlighting key things and exhibitions you can look forward to, so that you won’t miss any of the important things here.

Hall A – Malaysia Autoshow 2023

Starting off with the main hall, the Hall A, this is where the main show, the Malaysia Autoshow itself takes place. Here, you can expect to see volume car brands, including local ones like Proton and Perodua, as well as several international ones like Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, and more.

More importantly, Hall A hosts two key Chinese automakers, GWM and Chery, with the latter making its first public re-appearance since the firm’s announcement of returning to the local automotive market space. At Chery’s booth, you can check out their two new locally-assembled (CKD) models, the Chery Omoda 5 and Tiggo 8 Pro SUVs, which are set to make their local debut later this year.

GWM Cannon Truck (top), GWM Haval H6 HEV C-segment SUV (left) and GWM Haval Jolion HEV B-segment SUV (right)

As for GWM, the Chinese automaker has previewed two of its SUVs under the Haval sub-brand, cordially known as the Haval H6 HEV and Haval Jolion HEV. As their names suggest, both models feature a hybrid powertrain. Apart from that, GWM also previewed the GWM Cannon – a mid-size pick-up truck from the brand, also set to debut later this year.

Limited-Edition Proton X50 R3 (left) and Perodua EMO EV Concept

Elsewhere, Proton also displayed the special Proton X50 R3 20th Anniversary Edition, limited to only 200 units, while Perodua displayed the EMO EV concept. You can also check out non-automaker booths like the Petronas, Touch n Go, and many more here.

Hall A1 – Malaysia Autoshow 2023 (Premium Hall)

Adjacent to the main hall is the Hall A1, which features a slew of premium car brands like BMW Group Malaysia (BMW, BMW Motorrad, MINI), Mercedes-Benz by Cycle-Carriage Bintang (CCB), Lotus, as well as Bufori.

All-New BMW iX1 (top), MINI Electric Resolute (left) & BMW i4 M50 (right)

New models launched here include the BMW Group Malaysia trio of EVs, the BMW iX1 SUV, limited-edition MINI Electric Resolute Edition, as well as the BMW i4 M50 – Malaysia’s first all-electric M model. As for its Stuttgart-based rival, the Mercedes-AMG GT63S E-Performance debuted as the latest AMG model available in Malaysia.

BMW CE 04 EV Scooter

Elsewhere, BMW Motorrad has launched its first-ever electric model, the BMW CE 04 EV scooter, as well as showcasing the BMW R18 100 Years Edition. As for the Lotus booth, you can check out the newly-launched Lotus Eletre EV – the world’s first hyper-SUV.

Hall C – Malaysia Bike Show, Car and Bike Accessories Show

Moving to Hall C, this third venue hosts the Malaysia Bike Show, as well as both the Car and Bike Accessories Show. Here, you can expect to see a few motorcycle brands like Suzuki, Modenas, Kawasaki, CFMOTO, as well as Royal Enfield.

Local motorcycle brand Modenas has launched its two latest models, namely the Modenas Dominar D400 Adventure and D250, while Royal Enfield displayed its latest bike models, namely the Royal Enfield 411 Scram and Hunter 350.

Aside from that, Hall C also hosts Car and Bikes Accessories Show, featuring a slew of brands like Shad, Shima, Trapo, Soundstream, as well as several lubricant brands like Eneos and Mannol.

Hall D – Malaysia EV Show (EV automakers and EV-related brands)

The final main venue of the auto show, Hall D showcases anything and everything that falls under the EV umbrella. The Malaysia EV Show features EV automakers like BMW, GWM, Peugeot, Volvo, as well as EV newcomers Neta.

Previewed: Peugeot e-2008 EV SUV

Here you can check out the all-new Neta V, Malaysia’s most affordable EV, priced just below the RM100,000 mark. Peugeot, on the other hand, has previewed the e-2008 model for the first time in the country, set to be launched some time later. Also featured here are some EV motorcycle brands like Yadea and Superlux, so be sure to check them out for alternative urban mobility choices.

Elsewhere, Hall D also hosted a few EV-related technology brands like local charging solutions provider ChargeSini, where they displayed the massive DC chargers at their booth. At the end of the hall near the main stage, you can also check out a slew of classic car models on display, should you get easily bored with all the new cars on display.

Hall DG – Test Drive

Located beneath the Hall D and accessible via the escalator is Hall DG, the test-drive area. Almost all brands mentioned earlier participated in the test-drive sessions, so you can go down here and register to test-drive these new models by yourself, before placing an order.
