The Neta V on display at the Malaysia Autoshow 2023, commanding RM99,800.
After previewing the Neta V as Malaysia’s most affordable electric vehicle (EV) at the Malaysia Autoshow 2023, distributors Intro Synergy also detailed plans to introduce more models from the Hozon New Energy Auto-owned brand. Included are models such as the larger Neta U crossover and the sporty Neta S.
A wholly-owned subsidiary of GoAuto Group, Intro Synergy also noted that it has signed a deal with Hozon Auto to invest up to RM300 million towards developing its sales and aftersales network, as well as plant for local assembly (CKD) in Malaysia.
the Neta U Pro crossover SUV is set to arrive in Malaysia in 2024 circa Q2.
The Neta U will arrive first in 2024 circa Quarter 2, according Intro Synergy. In terms of design, the Neta U will boast a rather expressive styling featuring a sloping roofline, wedge-style taillights that span the width of the rear, and T-shaped DRLs linked by a light bar running across the front fascia.
Underneath, this crossover SUV harnesses ternary lithium batteries with either 54.32 (standard) or 81.57 kWh (Pro) capacities to juice a front-mounted motor rated at 161 HP (or 120 kW) and 210 NM, or 201 HP (or 150 kW) and 310 NM in its higher Neta U Pro form.
The Neta U's innards sees no shortage of digital display screens.
Other novel tech includes AR displays in the A-pillar and an AI-powered digital assistant.
Besides AC charging, the batteries mentioned accepts DC rapid charging inputs as well, promising quick charges up to 80% in under 30. More importantly though it’s the claimed NEDC range figure of up to 500 KM. As for performance, the base Neta U promises 0-100 KM/H in about 10 seconds.
Like the Neta V, the Neta U is set to feature a host of on board tech including multi-screen displays and interface, a novel AI digital assistant, as well as Level 2+ semi-autonomous driving features.
Sporty Neta S is a large sports sedan featuring a striking design and gullwing front doors.
Set to make landfall 2025 circa Quarter 1, the Neta S sports sedan is a sizeable yet sleek and very striking offering, the latter thanks to its gullwing front doors. This design isn’t just for show though as Neta claims it provides a slippery drag coefficiency figure of just 0.216.
Key design elements include dual-tier forward lighting arrangement featuring slim, discreet DRLs, full-width taillights that wrap around the rear fenders, and retractable door handles.
The Neta S is also not short of digital display screens, and will feature even more tech and amenities befitting of a flagship offering.
On the powertrain front, the Neta S can field either a single rear-mounted motor that sends 228 HP and 310 NM to the rear wheels, or a dual-motor setup with similar outputs but driving all four wheels instead. Battery sizes range from 43.51 to 91 kWh, whilst claimed reads between 310 KM to 715 KM, though Neta does tout a maximum range of 1,160 KM (CLTC standard) under specific conditions.
In terms of tech and features, this sporty offering sees no shortage of screen on board, thumpy 21-speaker audio system, augmented reality displays, as well as the Neta Pilot suite, which is the brand’s assisted driving features that promise near-autonomous highway and city driving capabilities.
