GWM's Haval Xianglong SUV - A PHEV SUV Featuring A Twin Motor Setup

The Chinese MIIT database has revealed the upcoming Haval Xianglong SUV. The Xianglong, would be a part of Haval's Dragon series and is slated to premiere in the second half of this year.
The Xianglong, which would be a plug-in hybrid vehicle, will be powered by Great Wall Motors Hi4 plug-in hybrid system, which has a maximum engine output of 163HP, according to the Chinese MIIT.

Two variants of the Xianglong would be offered, a 1.5L hybrid engine with a 95HP front axle motor and a 204HP rear axle motor plus a 1.5T hybrid engine with an 109HP front axle motor and a 204HP rear axle motor. Both variants will be offered with a 2-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT).

The Haval Xianglong which carries the boxy ques similar to the Land Rover’s with a hint of the G-Wagon has a prominent three double horizontal bars as its front grille. This coupled with the Mercedes G-Wagon like headlights somehow works in making the Xianglong unique in its own rights.

Furthermore, the presence of cameras on its front fenders suggests an advanced driving system which could include 360-deg view capabilities. The SUV's rear-end features the classic familiar square-shaped tail lights seen in certain foreign brands. There is also the presence of roof-racks, conventional rugged door handles and a rear-door mounted spare wheel.
The Xianglong has a dimension of 4800mm in length, 1916mm width, 1822mm in height with a wheelbase of 2738mm.
