Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd (Rapid Bus), the operator of the Rapid KL bus and MRT feeder bus services, will begin executing a pilot project for bus lanes on Jalan Ampang beginning today, July 3, 2023, in partnership with the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).
The bus lanes will run from the Jalan Rhu intersection to the Jalan Tun Razak intersection, with 34 buses from two routes, Route 300 (Pandan Indah - Lebuh Ampang) and Route 303 (Taman Mulia Jaya - Lebuh Ampang) participating. The experimental project is planned to directly stimulate a change in travel mode and encourage usage of public transport which can significantly help reduce the traffic congestion on Jalan Ampang.
These bus lanes will operate during peak morning hours, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., and are expected to benefit residents along the Jalan Ampang corridor who commute to the city centre for work.

According to Rapid Bus CEO, Muhammad Yazurin Sallij, "With the implementation of these bus lanes, the Rapid KL bus service will be smoother and can save travel time by up to 20 minutes compared to using private vehicles. The Jalan Ampang bus service not only transports passengers to KLCC but also connects them to other means of public transportation. Furthermore, utilisation of new and comfortable double-decker buses, as well as the availability of Park n Ride facilities, will make the travel more comfortable. We encourage the Ampang population to use the amenities given so that public transportation can become their primary source of transportation."
Yazurin further added, "By shifting to public transport, traffic congestion can be drastically reduced as the Rapid Bus double-decker buses can accommodate up to 110 people, which technically equates to more than 50 cars taken off the road."

- LRT Ampang Park/ LRT KLCC/ LRT Dang Wangi/ LRT Masjid Jamek plus journey to Putra Heights or Gombak by taking the Kelana Jaya LRT Line
- MRT Ampang Park plus journey to Putrajaya or Kwasa Damansara by taking the Putrajaya MRT Line
