Bridgestone Potenza Sport - A Premium Sport Performance Tyre Worth Considering!
In Nov 2021, Bridgestone Tyre Sales Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. introduced their flagship tyre, the Potenza Sport. This cutting-edge tyre was meticulously engineered using advanced tyre technologies to provide exceptional road grip and performance.
Earlier this week, Bridgestone Malaysia recently organised The Potenza Sport Driving Experience to showcase the tyre's dynamic capabilities within a real-world driving context to members of the media and its dealers. The Bridgestone Potenza Sport is said to have a new benchmark in premium sport performance tyres, boasting remarkable cornering stability that enables drivers to always be in control confidently, be it in wet or dry.
According to Bridgestone, the Potenza Sport is engineered to push boundaries and pursue excellence by delivering impressive cornering and straight-line driving grip, resulting in increased driving confidence. We at CariCarz.com were able to put the Potenza Sport through its paces in a slew of disciplines such as wet and dry braking, cone slaloms, and high speed cornering tests using a fleet of BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class cars. Unfortunately, the rain had its way, hence making our dry braking test a wet one too.
Overall the Potenza Sport, categorised alongside rivals like the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S, held up extremely well during all our tests mentioned, delivering excellent wet road grip even whilst under heavy braking. Similarly in the high speed section tests, the Potenza Sport provided ample grip through fast, sweeping corners, and it handled directional transfers with ease. As for the slalom experience, here’s where we felt the tyre shined thanks to its stiffer sidewalls and grip level. These, in turn, enabled aggressive turns, medium speed cornering, and heavy braking possible without much drama.
The Bridgestone Potenza Sport is constructed with increased stiffness aimed towards improved braking and enhanced abrasion resistance. This optimised compound enhances both wet and dry handling without compromising high speed stability and steering response.
"The Bridgestone Potenza Sport Driving Experience underscores our unwavering commitment to delivering uncompromising performance and driving pleasure. Through this event, Bridgestone aims to showcase how Potenza Sport embodies its dedication to pushing the boundaries of road performance,” expressed Michael Chung, Managing Director of Bridgestone Tyre Sales (M) Sdn. Bhd., during this week’s event.
As a side note, the Bridgestone Potenza Sport tyres also serve as original equipment (OE) tyres on prestigious performance cars such as Maserati MC20, Lamborghini Huracán STO, BMW 8 series, and more. These tyres are available in sizes ranging from 18- to 22-inches, and each are priced from RM900 a piece. Purchases can be made through Bridgestone Authorised Dealers nationwide.
