Besides that, Petronas and AWS are set to explore design and construction of advanced future plants primed with cutting-edge tech, robotics, and automation solutions a la Amazon’s renowned warehouses and facilities. This will scale existing research and development efforts by Petronas for the potential production of microalgae oils serving as feedstock for sustainable aviation fuel.
The Setel app from Petronas is also set to benefit from this partnership with Amazon and AWS.
Petronas is also set to leverage of AWS’s renowned cloud technology to bolster and grow existing and new solutions such as the Setel app and the STEAR AWS-based offshore logistic solution and services platform. Amazon will also seek to evaluate Petronas’ low-carbon and alternative fuel solutions for possible integration across various areas includes mobility, stationary power applications, and carbon management.
Additionally, AWS will continue upskilling technical and non-technical Petronas staff to bolster their digital literacy via AWS Training & Certification programmes. Furthermore, this aligns with AWS’s broad commitment towards aiding the development of a digital-savvy workforce and further fuel Malaysia’s digital economy.
Amazon and AWS are already renowned for their electrified delivery fleets in both America and Europe. Petronas and Gentari are set to enable a similar operation for the firm in India.
Aligning with the aim of becoming a valued clean energy solutions partner via our comprehensive offerings in renewable energy, hydrogen, and green mobility, Gentari is excited to support Amazon's responsible approach in decarbonising their operations and helping them achieve their net zero aspirations.
“Together with Petronas and Gentari, and with our upcoming AWS Region in Malaysia, we look forward to supporting businesses and communities to advance their climate and digitalisation ambitions,” expressed AWS ASEAN’s Managing Director, Conor McNamara.
