- Pos Malaysia Rolls Out 143 E-Vans In Cooperation With Yinson Greentech
In line with the sustainability goals of the country's postal service, Yinson GreenTech (YGT), a provider of green technology solutions, has announced a cooperation with Pos Malaysia Berhad to provide 143 commercial smart electric vans (e-vans).
Pos Malaysia will get CAM EC35 e-vans from YGT through its electric vehicle (EV) leasing company, drivEV, which are outfitted with smart EV telemetry software. Pos Malaysia's aim to provide a delivery service with a "clean and green smile in the last mile" will be aided by these e-vans. Additionally, YGT will manage technical support and maintenance for the leased e-vans and EV chargers in addition to installing fleet charging solutions at Pos Malaysia depots across the country.
It's thought that this comprehensive EV leasing option is the first of its sort in Malaysia.
Modern cloud-based technology is used by the smart EV telematics software to provide almost real-time data and analytics for effective fleet management. It has capabilities like remote monitoring and charging, battery usage, and driving efficiency optimization for every e-van.
YGT's Senior Vice President of Business Development, Mr. Srinivas Tati, emphasised the importance of helping commercial and industrial clients reach their net-zero objectives. The reduction of Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030 is a sustainability goal shared by Pos Malaysia and YGT with pride. This collaboration started with the installation of chargEV charging stations at Pos Malaysia stores earlier this year and has since expanded to include the quick electrification of their fleet of four-wheel vehicles, creating a precedent for other businesses in their decarbonization initiatives.
Charles Brewer, group chief executive officer of Pos Malaysia, is enthusiastic about the partnership with YGT and highlights their dedication to eco-friendly fleet operations and achieving sustainability targets. One of six sustainability programmes, it supports the organisation's goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. By 2030, Pos Malaysia wants to replace all last-mile internal combustion (ICE) engines with electric ones.
Charles also emphasised Pos Malaysia's ambitious aspirations for a cleaner and greener future as outlined in their Sustainability Roadmap, which was first published in early 2023. In order to achieve a sustainable, net-zero future, he extends an invitation to others to join them.
For proof-of-concept (POC) purposes, YGT has also provided Pos Malaysia with one unit each of the MAXUS eDeliver 3 and FOTON iBLUE EV in addition to the CAM EC35 e-vans. In order to electrify its last-mile ICE cars by 2030, Pos Malaysia will evaluate these e-vans over a three-month trial period.
