Samsung SDI Will Supply EV Batteries To Hyundai Motor

Hyundai-HMMI-EV-factory-Indonesia-2.jpg Samsung SDI has announced a seven-year partnership with Hyundai Motor Group to supply electric vehicle (EV) batteries beginning in 2026. This is the two South Korean companies' first battery supply agreement, according to an official statement from the Korean automaker.

The company stated in a statement that they will supply prismatic batteries manufactured at their Hungarian factory to Hyundai Motor for their EVs aimed at the European market. Hyundai Motor will use the batteries from 2026 to 2032. However, the exact value of the transaction has not been disclosed.

The partnership between Hyundai Motor and Samsung SDI marks a significant turning point for the South Korean electric car market.
