Sushil Purohit, the CEO of Gentari, is upbeat about Malaysia's Budget 2024 which was announced recently by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and how it would support Gentari’s renewable energy ambitions.

The government's dedication to a sustainable energy transition is demonstrated by the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) and the RM2.0 Billion allotted to the National Energy Transition Fund. This commitment aligns with Gentari's emphasis on renewable energy, hydrogen, and green mobility.

In accordance with the decarbonization initiatives of NETR and PETRONAS, Gentari supports the use of renewable energy. The government's target of having 70% of its energy come from renewable sources by 2050 is compatible with Gentari's clean energy initiatives. They applaud the promotion of home solar systems and the partnership with Tenaga Nasional Berhad for Putrajaya's Low Carbon Green City.

Gentari makes use of government incentives including tax reductions and the Electric Motorcycle Usage Incentive Scheme in the electric vehicle (EV) market. These initiatives support the switch to EVs and help the government reach its goal of 10,000 EV charging stations by 2025.

Gentari works with partners in Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia and is optimistic about the role that hydrogen will play in Malaysia's energy future. Decarbonization is encouraged via the Hydrogen Economy and Technology Roadmap (HETR), which also expands Malaysia's hydrogen export industry.

To sum it up, Gentari supports the Budget 2024 goals and requests cooperation from other companies in the renewable energy sector. Through three pillars of renewable energy, hydrogen, and green mobility, they are dedicated to assisting the government's effort to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by the year 2050.
