ANIH Berhad, the operator of the Kuala Lumpur - Karak Highway (KLK) and the East Coast Expressway Phase 1 (LPT1), has issued a Travel Time Advisory (TTA) covering the period from November 10 to 13, 2023, to assist road users in planning their travel during the Deepavali holiday.

ANIH anticipates that approximately 692,000 vehicles will use the KLK highway during this period, representing a 73% increase from the average daily traffic. Additionally, the expected traffic flow on LPT1 is projected to be around 284,000 vehicles, indicating a 58% increase from the average daily traffic.

ANIH Berhad would prioritise the comfort, convenience, and safety of highway users, especially during the festive season. Consequently, ANIH Berhad has made preparations by increasing its support staff by more than 60%, including toll plaza attendants, LPT Ronda teams, and traffic control centre personnel throughout this period.

Furthermore, additional toll lanes will be opened if necessary and 150 RELA members will be deployed to strategic areas along the highway to ensure smooth traffic flow.

The government has announced that tolls will be waived in conjunction with the Deepavali celebration, starting from midnight on November 11 and ending at 11:59 PM on November 12. Users would still be required to tap their Touch n’ Go card to gain access onto the highways.
