Great Wall Motor Will Expand To Eight European Countries In Europe
Those eight new European markets are Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria and Switzerland, according to the report.

GWM has been the largest manufacturer of SUVs and pickup trucks in China since its inception in the mid-1980s, but it has been transitioning to EVs in recent years, becoming one of the country's largest plug-in EV manufacturers as well.
The Chinese carmaker has expanded its footprint beyond the Chinese market to date, but not many EVs have become available in foreign markets, particularly the EU. However, Great Wall announced preliminary plans to begin selling EVs in Europe in 2021.
That journey began in Germany with the Good Cat EV, created by Great Wall's brand Ora and rebranded as the Funky Cat for the European market. Since then, Great Wall Motor has enlisted the assistance of Emil Frey, Europe's largest car dealer group, to assist in the distribution of vehicles under the Ora and Wey marques.

Furthermore, GWM has moved forward with screening possible locations in Europe for local research and development, as well as possibly more, as part of its unwavering and accelerated push to expand internationally.
Great Wall Motors announced at the 2022 Overseas Dealers Conference that its global brand strategy would center around its namesake GWM umbrella, which divided its five major auto marques into different development paths in Europe based on categories to deliver various energy products and electric vehicles to their ideal markets abroad.
