- Bentley Batur Gets Matching Ducati Superbike
Bentley has teamed up with Ducati to create the Ducati Diavel for Bentley special.
For the uninitiated, this latest collaboration between British luxury automaker Bentley and renowned Italian two-wheels institution Ducati may seem like the most unlikely tie-up. However, just remember that both brands share the same parent company in the form of Volkswagen.
Back to this collaboration and, aptly, the new Ducati Diavel for Bentley is a limited edition special based on Ducati’s latest Diavel V4 that’s inspired by Bentley’s now sold-out Batur special. But whilst the Batur saw just 18 examples planned, this Ducati equivalent sees just 500 units planned.
Just 500 units of this special superbike will be built, each sporting exquisite carbon fibre bodywork, diamond-cut forged wheels, alcantara seat saddle, as well as an exclusive and striking 'Scaraab Green' paint.
Each of special Diavel, which is a superbike-engined ‘dragster’-styled bike, will feature exquisite carbon fibre bodywork plus diamond cut forged wheels. According to Ducati, both of which mirror their counterparts on the W12-engined Batur special.
Also inspired by the Bentley is this Ducati special’s adoption of an alcantara seat saddle, as well as the striking ‘Scaraab Green’ hue it wears. Said paint comes directly from the Bentley Mulliner coachbuilding arm and is the same offered on the Batur too.
Not a fan of this green hue? Fret not as Ducati will also ready an additional 50 units that’s open to more personalisation. Aptly christened as the Ducati Diavel for Bentley Mulliner, these additional units can be configured with special colours and trims from Bentley’s Mulliner arm.
So what’s the catch? Well, each of these 168 HP superbikes are offered exclusively to existing Bentley customers only. Neither Ducati nor Bentley opt to confirm prices but expect each to command significantly higher amounts over the regular Diavel V4’s figure.
Besides the 500-unit Ducati Diavel for Bentley mentioned, there's also an additional Ducati Diavel for Bentley Mulliner option available with more customisation options. The latter will see just 50 additional units.
For reference, Ducati’s latest generation Diavel V4 packs a 1,158cc V4 mill derived from the manic Panigale V4 flagship superbike, albeit with a slightly ‘detuned’ output of 168 HP and 128 NM. Locally, Ducati Malaysia reportedly retails it with a base starting price of RM178,900.
Also, it’s worth noting that this is Ducati’s first foray in collaborating with a four-wheeled marque. Last year, the firm also released the Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini Edition inspired by the Lamborghini Huracan STO.
Ducati previously made a similar special with Lamborghini - the Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini Edition.
That earlier special made in collaboration with fellow Volkswagen Group stablemate Lamborghini saw just 630 units planned, plus a further 63 units reserved especially for existing Lamborghini owners. You can read about that special in our past report of it by clicking these blue words…
Besides that, both Italian brands also recently collaborated to develop connected driver and rider safety tech. You can read our report on which by clicking here...
