KKR_works-ministry_Christmas-2023-free-toll-750x476.jpg Following talks with Malaysian highway concession companies, the Works Ministry (KKR) has declared that highway travel will be free of tolls for two days, on December 23 and 26, 2023, in anticipation of the upcoming Christmas celebrations on December 25.
According to The Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan, the toll fare waiver will apply to all vehicle types at all toll plazas on these two dates, with the exception of those at national borders, namely the Tol Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (BSI) and the Plaza Tol Tanjung Kupang (Linkedua).

"The dates for the waiving of highway toll fare have been selected in order to ease traffic for highway users travelling back to their hometowns and for their return into the city," the minister said.

"It is hoped that this toll waiver will reduce the burden on those who are planning to return to their home towns to visit their families and celebrate Christmas together," he added.
Highway users are also advised to take advantage of toll-free travel dates by planning travel times, ideally by following the suggested times for highway travel while adhering to speed limits, signage, and regulations while on the road.
