SKL Inks MoU With MTD Construction – 53 KM Highway Network In Klang Valley

Sungai Klang Link Sdn. Bhd. (SKL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MTD Construction Sdn. Bhd. (MTDC) to collaborate in the development and construction of a new highway project here in Klang Valley.

The proposed 53 KM highway in the Klang Valley area runs parallel to the Klang River, which also will be integrated with the existing highway network through seven interchanges. This new network will start at the West Coast Expressway (WCE) interchange in Bukit Raja, Klang and end at the New Pantai Expressway 2 (NPE 2) interchange in Kuala Lumpur.

The highway project was presented to the government by SKL as the concession holder through the build, own, and operate method. The proposed highway is currently in the final stages of government approval.

Under this newly-penned MoU, MTD Group will contribute in the planning, construction, and phased completion of the highway, which includes offering of comprehensive services, manpower, materials, and equipment. Additionally, the group is also tasked in the operation and maintenance of the highway once the construction has been completed.
