- Android Auto Gains New AI-powered Text Messaging Features
Current version of Android Auto as seen in the Mazda Cx-30 we reviewed not too long ago.
Following the recent debut of Samsung’s latest Android-powered Galaxy S24 flagship smartphone, tech giants Google also announced a series of newly added features powered by AI (artificial intelligence) for its Android Auto suite.
According to Google, AI will now help Android Auto automatically summarise long texts or busy groups chats whilst you’re driving. In instances like these, said new summarisation feature can serve as a quick and easy way to stay up-to-date while driving.
It also appears that the system will use Google Assistant to convey this information to users rather than making them read the summary.

In addition, Google announced that Android Auto will also use AI to suggest relevant replies and actions. For instance, when your friend texts you asking for your arrival time, Android Auto will suggest that you share your ETA with them.
That’s because It can also take things, like data from Google Maps, to tell the person you’re texting when you will arrive at your destination.
Google also notes that if you receive a location from your friend, you will be able to tap once and start navigating there. In addition, Android Auto will also let you tap once to call your friend. Altogether, these new AI-powered features promise to make Android Auto both safer and easier.
Besides to allowing users to text more, Google also aims to have Android Auto mirror a driver’s phone more closely. For this, the system will now share things like wallpapers and icons between a Galaxy S24 and the infotainment system.
