Honda’s new ‘0’ EV concepts preview the marque's future electric models, the Saloon & Space-Hub

Taking centre stage at Honda’s exhibition for the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this year is the marque’s new electric concepts series, known as the Honda ‘0’. More importantly, these two futuristic EV concepts will serve as a preview for Honda’s upcoming production EVs in the near future.

Honda 0 Saloon EV concept

Starting with the sleek Honda 0 Saloon, this EV concept features a wedge-shaped body style inspired by sportscars from the 1970s, with its gull-wing doors completing the whole classic sportscar homage. Besides that, futuristic design elements like the illuminated front grille and the rectangular taillight shape are both present here, though we’d reckon they won’t make it to the production stage.

Under its sporty facade, the 0 Saloon is a pretty big car, with its sleek and wedgy design hiding the roomy interior space pretty well. Inside, you’ll find a futuristic-looking front dash layout with a human-machine interface (HMI) instrument panel plus a yoke-style steering wheel above it. Sticking to the net zero carbon theme, all of the car’s seats and cabin trims are wrapped in sustainable materials.

Honda is planning to turn the Saloon concept into a production model as early as in 2026

More importantly, the Honda 0 Saloon concept underpins the marque’s new dedicated EV platform, which will also be used for its production twin. Though its design seems too good to be true, Honda aims for the production version of this sleek EV concept to hit the market as early as 2026, with selected markets like North America and Japan being the first ones to get them, followed by Asia, Europe, and the rest of the world.

Moving on to the second concept model, the Honda 0 Space-Hub is an all-electric minivan concept that offers a glimpse of what the new 0 series might bring to customers. Unlike the 0 Saloon concept, however, Honda has no plans to produce this EV minivan, as the Space-Hub will serve as a mere concept study, at least for now.

Aside from the similar rectangular light elements on both ends like we saw on the 0 Saloon, the Space-Hub boasts an expansive glass roof that spans the van’s entire roof length, providing passengers with spectacular views of the surrounding area.

Also similar to the 0 Saloon concept is the Space-Hub’s front dash layout, featuring an expansive display panel with a yoke-style steering wheel. Behind the driver’s compartment lies a secluded rear passenger space with opposing seat benches, providing a degree of seating flexibility for passengers.

Honda has also revealed a new 'H' emblem, which will be used by future EV models under the 0 series

In addition to these concepts, Honda has also introduced a new ‘H’ emblem dedicated to the new ‘0’ EV lineup. While the logo looks like a futuristic take on Honda’s current H-mark, this new emblem actually draws inspiration from the marque’s previous emblem used back in the 1960s. The stretched ‘H’ letter symbolises two outstretched hands, which Honda said to reflect its commitment to “expand the possibilities of mobility and continue to meet the needs of its customers.”
