- 2024 Subaru Forester GT Wild Lite ROI Opens – Price TBA
Motor Image Malaysia has opened the registration of interest for the Subaru Forester GT Wild Lite special edition.
Motor Image Malaysia has opened the registration of interest (ROI) for the new Subaru Forester GT Wild Lite special edition model. Based on the recently-facelifted Forester SUV, this special model gains several additional features and accessories to make it more rugged and off-road-ready than the standard models.
Starting with the visuals, the Forester GT Wild Lite comes draped in a special livery featuring graphics of the mountain range and a black-hued hood decal, while riding on new GT alloy wheels with a GT badge on its centre cap. More importantly, each of the wheels is shod in Yokohama Geolander all-terrain (A/T) tyres, which not only gives the SUV a more rugged look but also some actual off-road performance.
Based on the 2.0i-S variant, the special Forester GT Wild Lite is powered by the same 2.0-litre 4-cyl nat-asp ‘Boxer’ mill rated at 156 PS and 196 NM. Said mill is then mated to the Lineartronic CVT gearbox and Subaru’s signature Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system.
Further adding off-roading pedigree to this rugged SUV is the inclusion of both the SI-Drive drive mode selector as well as the Special X-Mode, with the latter mode providing the Forester with additional deep snow and mud driving modes in addition to the standard snow/dirt ones.
On the safety front, the Forester GT Wild Lite comes with a full-swing of active safety features, courtesy of Subaru’s EyeSight 4.0 ADAS suite. Drivers can expect to find ADAS functions like pre-collision braking, autonomous emergency steering, adaptive cruise control, lane centering, and lane departure prevention all available in this rugged SUV.
While its ROI has been opened, Motor Image Malaysia has yet to announce the tentative price tag for this special Subaru Forester GT Wild Lite edition. With the current Forester SUV retailing from RM163,000 to RM185,500 on-the-road, we can expect this special model to boast a slight premium over the standard models.
