1685779.jpg The Transport Ministry will summon representatives from e-hailing company Grab to explain the drop in delivery riders. Its minister, Anthony Loke, stated that discussions will also take place with related ministries.

"We will review the memorandum and discuss it with the relevant ministries. "Grab representatives will be called up to explain," he told reporters.

This comes after a group of delivery riders requested Putrajaya's intervention over declining payment rates in a memo they presented to the Transport Ministry on Friday, February 16. grabfood-foodpanda-income.jpg

Mohd Adie Ali, the group's representative, gave it to Nor Fuad Abdul Hamid, the ministry's deputy secretary-general (Management). According to Mohd Adie, delivery riders were not happy with the new rates of RM4 to RM4.50 and would prefer that Grab return to the previous rate of RM5 per delivery. The riders also requested changes to the process for paying for deliveries that are canceled.
