The multi-level parking lot next to Klang's KTM Komuter station on Jalan Raya Timur is offering free 30-minute parking to KTM users starting on April 1, according to a statement from Railway Assets Corporation (RAC).
Free parking used to be limited to 15 minutes, according to RAC public relations officer Ane Salfarizan Mispani.
“This is an effort to encourage motorists to use our parking facilities to drop off or pick up passengers,” she said.
According to Ane, all operators appointed by the RAC impose the same daily rate of RM5, which is what the operator at the multi-level building charges.
Ane further stated that, following a comprehensive feasibility study, RAC will take into consideration offering a buggy service to transport people from the multi-level parking area to Jalan Tengku Kelana, Jalan Stesen, and Jalan Dato Hamzah.
As a guide, There are 68 motorcycle bays and 583 car bays in the three-story parking structure. 40 parking spaces designated in vivid pink are designated for women, and nine are designated for the disabled. Parking is free for those with disabilities.
