- KKR Claims To Achieve 100% Pothole Patching Rate From MYJalan Reports
The Ministry of Works (KKR) has recorded a total of 14,031 complaints with regards to issues pertaining to road damage and potholes since the launch of the MYJalan Mobile App in August last year until April 19.
The MYJalan App was set-up to make it easy for road users in reporting road-related issues.
According to Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan, the Deputy Minister of the Public Works Department (KKR), out of these complaints, 27% or 3,776 were related to roads under the jurisdiction of the ministry, while 73% or 10,255 were under other ministries.
He further adds that while the primary responsibility of the ministry lies in maintaining federal roads, highways, and state roads, they would also play a part to ensure that complaints on other roads are conveyed to various other relevant ministries, including the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.
Maslan also revealed that KKR has to date resolved 86% of the 3,766 complaints received through the application with the remaining under investigation.
According to him too, KKR has stringent standard operating procedures in place and is working on continuously refining them. Potholes on highways and federal roads, for instance, must be patched within 24 hours.
Currently, the department has managed to achieve a 100% rate in patching potholes within the stipulated time frame.
