Starting this September, six more highways are set to implement the open payment system for their tolls.

Another six highways in Malaysia are set to implement the Open Payment Toll Collection System (SPT), Bernama reports. According to Public Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, the SPT implementation on these six highways is set to commence later in September this year, bringing a total of 18 highways to run the SPT for their toll collection.

The North-South Expressway (PLUS) are amongst the six new highways in Malaysia to adopt the SPT.

The six new highways are the North-South Expressway (PLUS), Seremban-Port Dickson Highway (SPDH), Linkedua Highway connecting Singapore and Malaysia, Grand Saga Highway, Grand Sepadu Highway, and Setiawangsa-Pantai Expressway (SPE).

Alexander further added that the OPS implementation will help to provide users with more payment alternatives on top of the existing methods such as Touch ‘n Go (TNG), SmartTag, and radio frequency identification (RFID).
