According to KPDN minister YB Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, registration for these new vehicle categories can be made starting from May 13 onwards, with the latest addition bringing the total eligible commercial vehicles to 23 types.

Diesel-powered panel vans like the Toyota Hiace here are also eligible for the targeted diesel subsidy.

The newly-added categories include rigid lorries (curtainsiders), food catering lorries, rigid lorries (agricultural produce), rigid tank lorries (beverages), rigid lorries (livestock transport), panel vans, and combination rigid lorries.

Also included in the newly-updated list are service buses, open-platform rigid lorries, moving service vans, food catering buses, rigid lorries (moving service), food catering vans, and rigid lorries for waste.

Registration for these 14 new types of commercial vehicles can be made via KPDN’s dedicated web portal, where the Minister added that companies that wish to apply for the subsidy must be registered for business in Malaysia. On top of that, the vehicle must also have a valid road tax to be eligible for registration.

Once the application has been approved, companies must immediately submit the ‘Fleet Card’ application to five designated oil companies, namely Petronas, Shell, Petron, Caltex, and BHP, where they can only pick three out of the five mentioned above.

Besides trucks and lorries, commercial window vans like the Toyota Hiace SLWB here will also be eligible for this targeted diesel subsidy programme.

Prior to this extension announcement, the SKPS project only covered nine types of commercial vehicles, namely rigid lorries for general cargo, prime movers, rigid lorries (luton or box), rigid lorries (water tanks), refrigerated rigid lorries, rigid lorries (flour tanks), window vans, panel vans, and rigid lorries (bottled drinks).

For more information regarding the SKPS project, you can visit KPDN’s official website. Alternatively, you can pass any queries regarding this project to the MySubsidi Diesel System Call Centre at 03-8882-6769 from 8 AM to 5 PM on weekdays.
