Honda Malaysia Celebrates 1H2024 Sales Milestone With Car Handover Ceremony

Honda Malaysia recently commemorated the delivery of its 170,000th Civic and 150,000th HR-V with a special handover ceremony held at the Honda Botanic Auto Mall Sdn Bhd to celebrate this accomplishment.

Honda Malaysia's managing director and CEO, Hironobu Yoshimura, stated: "The Civic, which is currently in its 11th generation, has been a mainstay of the Honda lineup and has led the Non-National C-Segment for eight years running since 2016." Similarly, the HR-V has been a favourite among Malaysians since its debut nine years ago, setting a high standard in the Compact SUV Segment."

During the ceremony, the 170,000th Civic, a 2.0L e:HEV RS unit, was handed over to Lim Chin Hui, while Asha Waheda received the 150,000th HR-V, also a 1.5L e:HEV RS variant. Both owners were also presented with exclusive gifts and Honda Genuine Accessories valued at RM10,000 as tokens of appreciation.

For the first half (1H) of 2024, Honda Malaysia’s total sales exceeded 39,200 units, reflecting a 16% increase compared to the same period in 2023. The HR-V emerged as the top contributor, accounting for 28% of sales in the Non-National Compact SUV Segment. The City model followed closely with 24% of total sales, and the CR-V contributed 15%.

The growing popularity of Honda’s e:HEV technology has also been notable, with hybrid models such as the City, City Hatchback, Civic, HR-V, and CR-V contributing 13% to Honda Malaysia’s sales in the first half of 2024.
