The Johor-Singapore Causeway and the Second Link are expected to see a surge in traffic from travelers entering Malaysia during the upcoming school holidays in the city-state, according to Singapore's immigration authority.

According to its immigration and checkpoint authority (ICA), both land crossings will see heavy traffic from Friday through September 8. It suggested that travelers use the cross-border bus services as an alternative, but be prepared to wait longer at the checkpoints. For quicker immigration clearance, drivers are advised to use QR codes rather than passports, according to ICA.

It is important for foreign drivers to confirm the validity of their Vehicle Entry Permits (VEPs), as vehicles without a valid Autopass card, an email confirming the VEP approval from LTA, or valid insurance will be refused entry. Additionally, drivers should refrain from cutting the line because doing so can seriously impede traffic flow and jeopardize other drivers' safety.
