The updated Zeekr 07 debuts in China as the world’s fastest-charging production EV, thanks to its new Golden Battery.

It’s been less than a year since Zeekr debuted its sleek EV saloon, the Zeekr 007. However, it appears that the Geely-owned EV marque gave the 007 a 2025 model year (2025 MY) update in China yesterday, and it features one key upgrade that is set to take this EV saloon to a whole new level.

For its 2025 MY update, the Zeekr 007 now comes with the new, second-gen Golden Battery that is offered alongside the 100-kWh CATL Qilin-powered unit. Coming in the same 75-kWh capacity as before, this new LFP-type Golden Battery now supports faster charging speeds, going from 4.5C in the previous version to 5.5C, which allows a 10-80% charge to be completed in just 10.5 minutes.

Thanks to this upgraded Golden Battery pack, Zeekr claims that the new 2025 Zeekr 007 is now the world’s fastest-charging production EV.

Besides the more potent battery pack, performance figures for the new Zeekr 007 have also been updated, with the new model having a faster century sprint time than the previous ones. The baseline RWD model now completes a 0-100 KM/H run in five seconds flat, compared to 5.4 seconds in the previous version, while the mid-spec dual-motor AWD model improves from 3.5 seconds to 3.4 seconds in a century sprint.

2025 Zeekr 007 Performance AWD

However, the top-flight Zeekr 007 AWD mode receives no powertrain upgrades, as its century sprint time is still capped at 2.84 seconds as prior. And such an upgrade might be redundant for the top-spec Zeekr 007 AWD, as it is still touted as the “world’s fastest accelerating mid-level pure electric car," at least according to Zeekr themselves.

Visually, the new 2025 Zeekr 007 does not look that different from its predecessor, as the only noticeable aesthetic changes that took place for the new model are the new 19- and 20-inch wheels with a multi-spoke design, plus several new colourways such as Shadow Black and Sky Green.

The new exterior green hue is matched with a new teal green interior colour option, which engulfs its new Zeekr OS, which now supports an AI-powered voice recognition system. To go with its new, AI-powered operating system, Zeekr has also beefed up the 007’s computing power, which is now powered by two Nvidia Orin X chips that are also used to power its updated Haohan intelligent driving system.

Now on sale in its native Chinese market, the newly-updated 2025 Zeekr 007 is priced from CNY 209,900 (RM130,019) for the baseline RWD model to CNY 299,900 (RM185,768) for the top-flight performance AWD variant. As of now, there is no news on whether this sleek EV saloon will be available in other international markets.
