- 20 Units Of Proton X90 Chauffer Foreign Delegates To 17th WCEC
National carmaker Proton presented 20 Proton X90 Flagships to the 17th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention (WCEC) for use in chauffeuring foreign dignitaries.
Held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC) from September 9th to 11th, the delegates of the WCEC were granted the privilege of traveling in style and comfort to meetings, appointments, lodging, and other destinations in the prestigious X90.
“By providing 20 units of Proton X90 to this event, we are showcasing our commitment to excellence and fostering stronger economic ties across borders. This initiative represents our dedication to building a collaborative future and strengthening global partnerships in the automotive industry,” said Dr. Li Chunrong, Chief Executive Officer, Proton.
Following the conclusion of the WCEC, the X90 was used to transport delegations led by Cheng Hong, VP of the China Overseas Chinese Association, and Wang Yanfei, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Sichuan Provincial People's Congress, to Melaka, where they visited tourist attractions.
The Proton's SUV series exemplifies a successful Chinese-Malaysian partnership. It is a significant accomplishment for Proton, as the SUV series was thought to have turned the company around following its partnership with Geely seven years ago.
Since its launch in May 2023, sales of the Proton X90, which is positioned as the company's first hybrid model and its most premium offering, have totaled 7,322 units, placing it among the best-selling models in the SUV D-segment.
