- Customised Proton X90 Delivered to Tengku Laksamana Selangor
A customised, two-toned Proton X90 was delivered to the Tengku Laksamana of Selangor, YAM Tengku Sulaiman Shah.
National automaker Proton has just completed a delivery of a special, customised Proton X90 for YAM Tengku Sulaiman Shah Ibni Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, the YAM Tengku Laksamana of Selangor. The special-built SUV was dressed in several customised design bits, including a unique two-tone brown and silver exterior hue.
The silver hue adorns both the front hood and the roof part of the car, while the rest of the exterior is finished in the same Cinnamon Brown hue as the standard model. Besides the striking two-tone hue, the customised X90 also rides on custom wheels finished in a shiny silver hue, and there’s also the Proton ‘Harimau Malaya’ bonnet ornament on the front hood, with ‘Proton X90 Special Edition’ writing surrounding the ornament’s base.
The customisation continues as we get inside this special X90, with the most striking bit being the red-and-white leather upholstery engulfing the entire cabin, accompanied by the walnut finish on the steering wheel. At the rear, the six-seater SUV comes equipped with fold-down tray tables for the second row, with cup holders integrated into them.
Given its six-seater layout, we can presume that this customised X90 is based on the Flagship variant of the X90. As Proton’s first new energy vehicle (NEV) model, the X90 harnesses a 1.5-litre 3-cyl turbocharged engine rated at 174 HP and 255 Nm, which has been mated to a 48-volt belt starter-generator mild hybrid (MHEV) system.
The standard Proton X90 Flagship currently retails at RM152,900, but we’d reckon this customised X90 will definitely cost more than its vanilla counterpart.
This X90 is definitely not the first customised Proton commissioned by Tengku Sulaiman, as his star-studded Proton collection also includes the likes of the Perdana, X70, X50, Satria Neo, and even the Putra coupe—all of which are customised to his specifications.
