A number of videos featuring exotic hypercars with foreign license plates driving dangerously, and against the law went viral online. These vehicles were a part of the Gumball 3000 rally, which began in Cambodia, as confirmed by PDRM.
Videos show participants speeding, burning rubber, and using emergency lanes. One even claimed a policeman asked them for a "gift."
Directors of the Federal Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department, Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan warned foreign drivers to abide by Malaysian traffic laws or face consequences.
While no formal reports have been filed yet, he urges anyone with information to come forward.
"Based on the videos, we identified multiple offences, including reckless driving and misuse of emergency lanes
"Drivers, regardless of nationality, must follow our traffic laws. Offenders will face action," Yusri said.
The Gumball 3000 Rally is an annual car rally that takes supercars and entrants around the world. This year's rally marks its 25th anniversary, with spectacular supercars lining the roads from Saigon to Singapore.
