Porsche just refreshed its 911 Carrera T for its latest 2025MY form based on the updated 992.2-gen platform.

Traditionally, if you wanted a Porsche 911 that was very-much driver-focused, the GTS-badged variants has long-stood as the outlying choice for which. However, with the refreshed 992.2-gen’s recent bout of electrification, that’s perhaps not the case anymore with said variant badge.

Fortunately, the renowned Stuttgart-rooted sportscar marque has remedied this need properly by introducing a newly refreshed iteration of its 911 Carrera T variant. First introduced in 2023, the Carrera T continues its designation’s tradition at being a lightweight and pure driver’s delight.

Unlike the pre-facelift version, this new 992.2-based version sees both coupe and cabriolet options available.

Critically, unlike before too, this 2025MY version of the 992.2-gen 911 Carrera T comes exclusively with a manual transmission only.

However, unlike before, this new 2025MY iteration of the Carrera T based on the updated 992.2-gen platform mentioned truly stands out now thanks to one key element – it is offered exclusively with a manual transmission. Additionally, there’s also an open-top Cabriolet choice added too.

Said box is paired with an unchanged signature 3.0-litre ‘Boxer’ or flat 6-cyl twin-turbo mill mounted in the rear, offering 389 HP and 450 NM. Should you row through the six-cogs quickly, Porsche says it will do 0-100 KM/H in just 4.5 secs too (4.7 secs for the cabrio).

Said manual transmission features an auto-blip function and a shifter knob made from open-pore, laminated walnut - the same as the one primed in the legendary Carrera GT hypercar.

Besides boasting an auto-blip function, said manual transmission is made much more special too thanks to the fact that it comes with a shifter knob made from open-pore, laminated walnut – just like the knob fitted in the marque’s legendary Carrera GT V10-engined hypercar.

With this revised new 911 Carrera T, Porsche says it is all “about concentrating on the essentials.” Evident to which is the weight-shedding performed by the marque, which sees this new 911 Carrera T weigh 40 KG less than its regular 911 Carrera to tip the scale at just 1,478 KG in its lightest form.

In its lightest form, the 911 Carrera T weighs just 1,478 KG - 40 KG less than the base 911 Carrera.

Like before, much of the weight-saving measures include reducing the level of sound-deadening in the cabin, swap for lightweight windows, rear seat delete in the coupe, as well as the offer to equip optional lightweight bucket seats.

Adding to which, Porsche also primed the chassis with a quicker steering ratio, beefier anti-roll bars, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) suite that also lowers the ride height by 10 MM, 20 MM larger brake rotors, not forgetting rear-axle steer as well.

Other key additions include a mechanical rear diff, brake torque-vectoring, Sport Exhaust, as well as lightweight 20-inch (front) and 21-inch (rear) alloy wheels.

Porsche also beefed up the 911 Carrera T's chassis with a slew of upgrades to make it even more nimble and agile.

Visually, there are a slew of subtle tweaks inside and out that denotes the 911 Carrera T from the regular 911 Carrera.

Visually, the new 911 Carrera T is set apart through its Vanadium Grey Metallic accents, black stainless steel tailpipes, the adoption of the GTS variant’s front spoiler, as well as a series of variant-specific side window stickers plus optional Gentian Blue accents.

On board, the 911 Carrera T sees its cabin rock Vanadium Grey cabin motif, though a Gentian Blue pinterior package with blue accents replacing the standard black accent stitching, seat belts and dash inserts is also available as an option.

Open for orders now, the 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera T sees its European market prices start from €141,700 (approx. RM673,025) onwards.
