The Chinese auto giant Chery Holding celebrated its historic accomplishment of being the first Chinese automaker to export more than one million vehicles in a single calendar year. The milestone shipment left Chery's port in Wuhu city, with 332 OMODA5 units sailing for Belgium, a journey anticipated to take about two months.
One in four Chinese passenger cars exported this year are Chery models, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), which estimates that Chery contributed approximately 940,000 units of exported vehicles out of 4.1 million passenger vehicles exported between January and October of this year.
Chery Holding has so far exported more than 4.3 million cars overall, making it the first Chinese automaker to sell more than 4 million units. 4.3 million cars is a significant accomplishment, and it is clear why Chery, with $39.0917 billion in revenue, is ranked 385th on the Fortune Global 500 list.
With exports accounting for almost half of sales, Chery's dual-track strategy of concentrating on both domestic and foreign markets has produced significant growth. The automaker has demonstrated outstanding performance in the fields of new energy vehicles (NEV) and internal combustion engines (ICE).

Notably, sales of ICE vehicles increased by 24.9% over 2023, while sales of NEVs increased by an incredible 186%, providing clear proof that Chery's well-rounded strategy is working.
