- Man Lodges False Police Report To Claim Insurance For Stolen Audi
A man attempted to make an insurance claim by filing a false police report alleging that his luxury car had been stolen. According to the New Straits Times, Superintendent Shaik Abd Kadir Shaik Mohamed, the man who's also an engineer, stated that he was robbed by two individuals on Friday night at around 10.30pm, with the suspects allegedly taking his Audi and personal goods.
The report, filed about 3.15 a.m. on Saturday (Dec 21), stated that the complainant was stopped by two unidentified men who allegedly robbed him of his personal goods before fleeing in his Audi.
Shaik stated that his team performed a standard inquiry under Section 395 of the Penal Code. However, subsequent investigations and questioning proved that the incident was staged.

Shaik further emphasised that filing false reports is a serious offence under Section 182 of the Penal Code for giving false information to authorities, since it negatively affect the impression of crime and could make locals unnecessarily afraid.
