Suzuki Swift Sport ZC33S Final Edition Special Launches In Japan
The new Suzuki Swift Sport ZC33S Final Edition special was announced in Japan earlier this week which, aptly, marks the end of the third-gen Swift Sport hot hatch model.
Japanese automaker Suzuki is set to see its popular third-generation Swift Sport hot hatch model (chassis code: ZC33S) bow out after revealing a new ‘ZC33S Final Edition’ special exclusively for its Japanese home market earlier this week.
This final-run special will see its production limited based on time frame instead of a set unit production number, and all pack a slew of special cosmetic upgrades to set it apart from the base third-gen Suzuki Swift Sport model it underpins.
Suzuki were visibly careful to christen this final-run special as the 'ZC33S Final Edition' by specifically adding the current Swift Sport's internal chassis model code. In turn, this suggests that the automaker hasn’t ruled out successor based on the new fourth-gen Swift.
This final run special's exterior is easily denoted by its exclusive gloss-black front grille, fog lamp surrounds and 17-inch rolling stock, not forgetting red brake calipers and special C-pillar decals too.
Back to this final run special, what sets it apart cosmetically are its exterior’s exclusive gloss black-finished front grille, fog light surrounds and 17-inch alloy wheels, red brake calipers, as well as variant-specific decals on the C-pillar.
Moving into the cabin and the ZC33S Final Edition special gains 'heat graduation' trim elements on the dashboard, door panels and centre console, along with gloss silver garnish on the steering wheel. Apart from which, it appears little else has changed aesthetically.
Underneath, this special sees no mechanical changes or upgrades to its signature 1.4-litre 4-cyl turbo petrol mill that outputs 138 HP and 230 NM to the front wheels. Moreover, both 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options are available for this special too.
Exclusively primed in this special's cabin too are its unique 'heat graduation' trim panels. Notable is the fact that both 6-speed automatic and manual transmission choices are available for this special too.
It’s worth noting that unlike its European market twin, this Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) version of the outgoing Swift Sport hot hatch remains ‘pure’ sans any electrification – the former gained a detuned mild-hybrid (MHEV) heart since 2020 to meet tight emission regulations.
Production of the Suzuki Swift Sport ZC33S Final Edition is set to commence from March 2025 and end in Nov 2025, says the S-brand. As for price, the manual version starts from ¥2,329,800 (approx. RM67,525) whilst the automatic is tagged at a higher ¥2,401,300 (approx. RM69,598).
ZC33S-gen Swift Sport 'Silver Edition' introduced locally by Naza Eastern Motors last year. It appears available still on the firm's website for RM141,900 - RM11,000 more than the regular Swift Sport model.
Apart from its home market of Japan, Suzuki has not earmarked this special for overseas export just yet. And before you ask, the S-badge also said it will cease production of the regular ZC33S-gen Swift Sport model in Feb 2025.
Locally, the latter appears to still be available for the moment through official importers and distributors Naza Eastern Motors priced at RM130,900. The firm also has a ‘Silver Edition’ special launched last year still available priced at a higher RM141,900 figure instead.
